Sourcing Technical Engineer [China]

As a Sourcing Technical Engineer, your role involves utilising your technical expertise within the Product Sourcing team. You are responsible for providing technical capability within the Product Sourcing team to deliver and continuously improve sourcing channels that are compliant, flexible (low risk), consistent (DOTIF), sustainable and low-cost.

Your responsibilities encompass leveraging your knowledge of manufacturing best practices, metallurgical skills and proficiency in interpreting engineering requirements to oversee supplier technical processes, supplier audits and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure products are delivered to specification.

You will be involved in identifying, analysing, and reviewing instances of supplier non-conformances. In collaboration with the suppliers, you will develop plans to prevent the recurrence of these issues.

You will have high attention to detail and will review the first article products and inspection reports, providing recommendations on their technical compliance. You will play a role in qualifying manufacturing facilities for outsourcing Bradken products, aligning with the agreed strategy.

You are a collaborator and will have timely communication with stakeholders which will be crucial to minimize the impact of quality issues on the Delivery in Full on Time (DIFOT) objective. You will compile supplier technical information packages to ensure comprehensive documentation and understanding of supplier capabilities.

Key Technical Criteria:
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Metallurgy, Materials or similar)
  • Experience in a steel and/or iron foundry environment working with cast products or similar heavy industrial manufacturing processes
  • Product sourcing experience, with a focus on both domestic and international suppliers
  • Creation of technical documentation including procurement specifications, reports (failure, NCR, concession), product/supplier audits, etc
  • Experience participating in failure investigations and root cause analysis.

This role will be based in Xuzhou.
